Nordic Contrast Studio

This compact 23 m² apartment is thoughtfully designed in a contemporary Nordic style, emphasizing simplicity, functionality, and a restrained black-and-white palette enriched with natural wood accents. The open-plan layout seamlessly combines living, dining, and kitchen areas into a single continuous space, maximizing the perception of volume and light. Custom-built storage and a multifunctional stair element are integrated into the design, helping to maintain a clean and organized interior while optimizing every square meter.
A mezzanine level above the kitchen and bathroom provides additional storage and takes full advantage of the 3.3-meter ceiling height. This elevated space contributes to the apartment’s sense of verticality and clever use of compact dimensions. A large, full-height window allows abundant natural light to flood the interior, reinforcing the spatial clarity and highlighting the contrast between dark and light surfaces. These contrasts subtly define functional zones and enhance depth within the small apartment, making the compact layout feel more expansive.
Natural wood accents bring warmth and tactility to the restrained palette, balancing the starkness of black-and-white surfaces and creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Lighting is layered, combining track, pendant, and integrated fixtures to ensure functional illumination while accentuating architectural features. The overall design balances efficiency, style, and comfort, resulting in a compact urban home that is both visually striking and highly practical.
