Canteen–Restaurant in a Public Center

This project presents a bright and open canteen–restaurant, thoughtfully designed as part of a public center to accommodate a wide range of user needs. The space is intended for both quick meals and longer, more relaxed visits, offering a versatile environment where people can eat, work, or socialize comfortably. The layout is organized through clear furniture-based zoning, combining communal tables, compact seating for individuals or pairs, and more secluded corners for those seeking privacy. This flexible arrangement allows visitors to select the type of experience they prefer at any given moment.
A sculptural ceiling with suspended lighting creates a dynamic visual rhythm, enhancing the perception of height and spatial openness. Light, durable materials paired with soft, diffused lighting contribute to an airy and welcoming atmosphere, emphasizing comfort and visual lightness. The interior palette blends soft neutrals with natural textures, including timber, metal, and upholstered finishes.
Integrated greenery and natural materials introduce tactility, warmth, and a sense of human scale, counterbalancing the openness of the public interior. The design prioritizes comfort, functionality, and social interaction, creating an environment that feels both lively and inviting. The overall effect is a contemporary, flexible dining space that harmoniously combines high-density seating with more private, lounge-like areas, making it suitable for diverse activities and visitors of all ages.
